I did extensive research and Chicco KeyFit 30 and Britax car seats consistently got the highest ratings.

It all depends on what your looking for. You can google car seat comparison charts and go off those. I had a travel system that was graco so that was our first one, it was a present so I didn't really know. Then when my son went to a front facing car seat we got an Eddie Bauer one. Now for our next one I'm getting a baby trend cuz it'll work with both my different brand strollers.

It depends on what kind you want. Consumer reports gives you the top rated infant seats for free. If you want the rest consumer reports is only $30 for a year. I am getting an all in one car seat since I would be unable to carry an infant seat. Consumer reports says the evenflow symphony is good. I decided on the platinum model from babies r us since it has material that resists heat. I live in the Central Valley of California and we get tempatures in the 100s in the summer. So that is important to me also it is made in the usa.

I heard Graco had a recall on car seats at least that's what a mom posted a while ago on glow. Google the different brands and research them! Good luck choosing!!

All car seats have to pass the same tests actually, so they are technically all equally safe.  
​They all have pros and cons also, I would suggest going to the "Car Seats for the Littles" facebook page, they're awesome at answering car seat questions :)
