My husband is getting ready to deploy for nine months, he's currently stationed at Fort Drum while I've stayed in michigan until this deployment is over. He's getting ready to leave soon, I've requested time off work according to the standards at my job and was told I could have those days off last week. I've been keeping my eyes on the schedule waiting for it to be updated and it finally has. One coworker has those days off for a camping trip and another for a surgery. I have nothing against them, but I don't understand how they received the days off when I requested them first and was just reassured I wouldn't have to work. I work for a company that "proudly supports our troops", specifically in a program just for vets, funded by the DOD. The guy that does my scheduling is a vet himself and aware my husband is deploying very soon and is already stationed in New York. I'd think he'd understand. Has anyone else dealt with this or know what I could try? I already plan on speaking directly to HR and applying for FMLA
