First winter

What are you guys doing to prepare for your babies first winter? I should probably know this but we never went out last year and it’s looking like she won’t be the size I thought she might be. She still in 3-6 month clothing at almost 8 months. So she got a bunch of summer clothes in 6-9 size for the fall. I’m thinking of getting a good sweater or two. I’m confused about jackets though because I’ve seen that they’re not supposed to wear them in a car seat, but that’s the majority or time spent outside. I covered her with a thick blanket last year but now she plays with it and rips it off. Should I get extra pants now that she’s “crawling”?

Anyway...the question is: what are you getting for baby to wear this winter?
