Pack n Play for newborn sleeping?

So I bought a pack n play for my newborn to sleep in next to me at night. Is this safe? I was going to buy a bassinet but I thought a pack n ply would be just as safe. Opinions on this? I only plan on having him sleep in it for two months, then his crib after that. Here’s a picture of it. I am taking the little stars that are hanging down, my son wanted them up to see it :)
