First day of cycle?

So I am confused! I started spotting super light four days ago (a whole week early and enough to get me excited that it was possibly IB!) But aunt flow came on full force today (ugh she's the worst!). What should I consider the start of this period? I'm having a hard time figuring out my new cycle since a mc in April. Thanks!
