Our baby girl was born Monday, July 20th at 4:22am. I was just shy of 40 weeks when I went into pre-labor early Sunday morning with a pattern of contractions & began active labor at about 6:00pm. I wanted to labor at home as long as possible so once I started spotting I decided to head in. I prayed for a natural birth. I didn't want to be induced, (which increases your chance of a cesarean by 50%) didn't want an epidural or c-section. I was 4cm dilated when I went in & progressed to 6cm in 1 hour. My mucus plug & water broke at 7cm. My contractions continued to intensify & within 45min I went to 9cm & felt the urge to push. Shortly thereafter I was at 10cm & after about 5 pushes my baby was out!!! She weighed 8lbs 13oz & was 21 in long! Born healthy, fully alert & hungry! LoL. I wouldn't have done it any other way. We love our munchkin!!!
