First birthday

I may be the only one here, but has anyone else decided NOT to throw a huge first birthday party? With her birthday being the 23rd everywhere we could rent is closed for the holidays and no one has a big enough house for us to have a party at.

We’ve decided to decorate our own house (it’s fairly small) and just have people who wanna come by and celebrate come throughout the day. We were thinking of just doing an amazon wishlist or something for her because she really doesn’t need much as we buy her what is necessary as she grows. Of course we will have a cake since I work in a bakery but I just can’t wrap my head around spending a lot of money on a birthday party she won’t remember.

We will also be going to families houses for Christmas eve and Christmas so they could see her then if they aren’t able to make it to our house for her actual birthday. Next year we can do something big but I think we will keep it small for her 1st.
