Do I need to buy pads?

I haven’t used pads in several years and therefore don’t have any. I keep seeing people talking about needing them on here though and I’m wondering if I should just buy some? I’m in my third trimester now. What do I need them for?

I mean you’ll need them after birth but you don’t need them while pregnant. I use liners and they’re just fine.

You will need them for postpartum. After birth you will have discharge/bleeding for at least couple weeks. 
My recommendation is Depends Silhouettes for the hospital and your first day or two home. This is when your bleeding is the heaviest and they are much more comfortable than the massive pads the hospital gives you.

Then Always Infinity pads. First the Overnight ones followed by the regular ones. In my opinion these are by far the most comfortable pads, they have a foam that is super absorbent but also conforms to your body so you don’t feel them.

You have to use pads after birth because you can't put anything inside you including tampons or a menstrual cup. I bled for 6 weeks and then 4 more weeks on and off (light spotting) but most women bleed 4 weeks or less.

It's entirely up to you but you'll likely need them for after you've had your baby. You'll bleed a bit heavier than a period for around a week + then it settles but you can bleed for a few weeks. Especially the first night/day it happens, you'll 100% bleed. It's entirely up to you though if you want them or not but the hospital will provide you with some and they check the first few (my hospital did anyway) to make sure the blood loss is a normal amount. The ones they provide are extremely large, thick + uncomfortable so I'd say take some you find comfortable and wearable - I'm in the U.K. And boots own brand maternity pads are brilliant! ☺️✨
