ParaGard IUD Experience?

Question

I’ve been thinking about birth control methods, and after I’ve done my research, copper IUDs seem like the best option.
My only concern is the likely side effect of heavier periods and worse cramps. 
Do any of you guys have experience with ParaGard IUDs? Trying to put my mind at ease 😅

I had it and hated it. The first 6 months were good but after that i would spot for a whole month and the next I’d have a regular period and the next I’d spot on and off again. It was like that for a few months and I was in so much pain constantly. It was affecting my sex life and making it hard to care for my son. I got it removed and my periods are back to normal. If I were you I would research as much as possible before making a decision

I have it at the moment and i really like it!! The cramps are quite bad during your period not gonna lie, but id prefer that over hormonal forms of birth control so i think its worth it. 
I feel like my periods with the paragaurd are about as heavy as they were before i went on any hormonal birth control. 
I think its not recommended to get it if you have already heavy periods. hope that helped! Let me know if you have any more questions
