Does the higher dose of hormones in the bc pill have serious effects?

They gave me the pill with higher dose of hormones at Planned Parent good. & said if i don’t like the symptoms I can go back & they give me the one with less hormones. 
Why would they give me the one with more hormones to start with ??

there’s many reasons for different hormone levels. based on the info you’ve given them like medical history and such they decide. personally i have had horrid experiences with low dosage BC and amazing experiences with high dosage BC.

Because high dose has less chance of breakthrough bleeding, bigger time window to take it, the higher doses tend to be "newer" forms of progestin/estrogen and are the "go to" pills for Drs to prescribe. Is there a particular reason u want low dose?

The pill is full of nasties, I would opt for something more natural honestly
