Worried about MC

Hi moms and moms-to-be,

This is my very first pregnancy. I’m 5 weeks and 5 days. My HCG has been rising but not doubling. My level was 29,833 at 5 weeks 2 days and the day before I had an ultrasound which showed a gestational sac but no fetal pole or yolk sac.

My obgyn wanted me to go in for a D and C yesterday. I felt this was jumping the gun and got a second opinion. This doctor told me it was extremely unlikely I had a viable pregnancy, but they wanted to wait another week or two for a repeat u/s before a D and C.

I’m so devastated. I don’t know if there’s a shred of hope I should be holding onto. If I do need a D and C I’m wondering how long it will take me to conceive again (last time took two cycles). Any advice or insight from any who have been through something similar would be so appreciated.
