Ovulation and spotting, normal?

Tomorrow I'm supposed to ovulate. I keep track of everything day by day but I've never really experienced this. The day before yesterday, I was cramping lightly and spotting very little. Yesterday, my uterus and my left ovary felt like it was literally going to explode the pain was so severe but no spotting at all. This morning I wake up and go to the bathroom, light cramping same side, very light spotting again. Is that normal or should I be concerned??
