👶👶💙💖Chances of twins after single embryo transfer????

Question

What are your thoughts??? Can eggs/embryos split after 5 day blastocyst transfer to create identical twins? Or, does it split before day 5?  I'm just interested . Thanks in advance.

They can split in utero, not a huge chance, but always possible. Woman who went to my clinic got two put in, and ended up with triplets becasue one split

It can happen, and when you do assisted hatching for an FET it’s an increased risk. But as others stated it happens after day 5

This happened to me. We transferred one embryo but found out yesterday there are two babies. The doctor told us how rare it is though. I am 6 weeks pregnant and over the weekend I started bleeding so I went in yesterday because I thought we had lost our little baby and there was actually two instead! She said the bleeding was normal too. Now I’m waiting to find out if they are mo di twins or mo mo twins so I’m stressed the heck out.

I was thinking the same thing. I had a 5 days get embryo transfer on the 23rd August. I think there is a 2 % chance of them splitting when transferred.
