Glucose fasting??

Question

When fasting for the glucose test does it have to be exact? Like the time of fasting? I just got home from work and my appt is at 8:45am tmrw and I haven’t had dinner yet. It’s 8:30 pm where I live. Do I have to skip out on dinner!? I hope not. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Usually the rule of thumb for a morning glucose test is nothing after midnight. Definitely eat dinner! It could also screw up the test if you fast for to long. As long as you drink only water for 8 hours prior to the test you will be fine. I'm a former medical assistant, and type 1 diabetic. Lots of glucose tests under my belt lol

Mine was for 8 hours so I ate a light dinner, went to sleep and just didn't have breakfast.

Following because I’m taking my glucose test in a week.  I was planning on eating normal the night before and just not eating or drinking anything the morning of.

Fasting usually begins at midnight, you should be able to eat dinner

my midwife said i could eat eggs & bacon(protein) an hour before consuming the drink
