No, the father doesn’t carry an “O” allele. The baby will be A or B. 
The way blood genetics works is like this: O is recessive, so the only way to have an O blood type is to get an O allele from each parent. Someone who is “A” type has either two A alleles or one A and one O. Same concept with B. Someone with AB received an A allele from one parent and a B allele from the other. 
I am B+ and my husband is A+, but we each have an O allele (making us BO/AO) so our daughter could end up being BO, AO, AB, or OO depending on how the genetics plays out.

I is recessive. Which means you need to o to be o. If you have an AO or a BO mix the baby will be A or B as those are the dominate genes
