Whenever you're ready. Depends on your budget. I wanted to buy things throughout my pregnancy, so I wasn't overwhelmed at the end. I mainly started at 16 weeks when I knew the sex of the baby, but I had bought a couple neutral outfits beforehand.

My mom actually started buying baby boy clothes before we even knew he was a boy (we found out about 12/13 weeks )  😂 she told me she liked his name we have picked out and really wanted him to be a boy lol

Depending on your budget and everyone you are inviting to the baby shower, I'd start as early as you find out the sex or even before hand. We have 3 older kids so our money always goes to their school and activities and all that so we started buying at 13 weeks when we found out what we were having and started getting diapers even before that... We are also getting all the big things except the stroller and car seat since his mom wants to get that but the rest is on us so every time we see something we get it. And if anyone shows up for the shower its only the little things on the registry anyway.

I bought a few after i found out what i was having but i didnt buy any more after my baby shower just BC that is what usually people buy the most of as gifts.
