so I'm 37 weeks 4cm 50% effaced and baby is stationed at +1.....i wanna try the evening primrose oil.  does it work? if so how long did it take for active labor to start? I been hurting so bad but my contractions aren't consistent enough and I didn't make any cervix changes within an hour so I was sent home.  I've had two bowel movements today and feel a third coming on.  I need this baby to come on.

I’d walk and bounce on a yoga ball if you have one as much as you can. Also sex may help things along (hormone in semen can help labour progress). Good luck!

There’s not much evidence to say epo works. If you go in the Evidence Based Birth YouTube channel, there’s a whole video where all the good quality available evidence on epo is reviewed. I read it and decided not to try it. 
Basically you can only really induce labour if your baby and body are ready. However methods that you can try are: walking, using an exercise ball, sex, nipple stimulation...these methods are all shown to help induce.
