How do you ha dle your partner rejecting you for sex?

I want to have patience and understanding, but rejection hurts. Anytime he initiates, I'm ready to go. The times I really want it, I get turned down. He tells me I'm attractive, but if that was so, I would be able to get him going. It isn't worth the fights anymore.
If this happens in your relationship, how do you bury your emotions and accept it?

Same boat. Though i am a stay at home mom, and he works nights. He is also 13 years older than me. When i get rejected which is most of the times i initiate, i just remind myself that he has the stress of work, and gets tired more than i do. I always tell myslef that i am going to deny him next time he initiaites, but by than i am so desperate to get some that i instintly cave. God i am a sad woman. Lol. But honestly, it hurts when it happens, it cuts me, makes me feel less desirable and attractive. But when he does initiate, i forget all those feelings. I know he wants me, he just isnt up for it all the time. So goes life i suppose.

This has been a huge issue between my significant other and I, except he *never* initiates sex. Really! I am always the one who proposes that we mess around, and he turns me down most of the time. It's hurtful. It really tears at my self esteem sometimes. I take it very personally. It makes me feel bad about myself, like he doesn't want me, like he doesn't find me attractive. He says that not it, that he's just "tired" or he's just "had a long day", but it's really quite strange to me that a 26 year old male would ever turn down sex. Anyway, we are in therapy together (have been for 4 years) and it has really helped both of us to communicate better and to work as a team on improving and building up our relationship. It's also really helped us as individuals, as well.  I would recommend trying to go to therapy together and talking about the sexual issues there. Therapy is a neutral ground with a mediator, so it's a safer and calmer environment to be honest about what's really on your mind. It feels good to get your feelings out! Then you can start to work on a solution to the problem at hand. And if your partner refuses to join you in therapy, (mine thought it was a good idea for us, but I know a lot of males really reject the idea of a therapist) I really believe it would still be beneficial for you if you went by yourself. That way you can at least talk to someone about how this is affecting you. I hope this helps!

Not very well! I take it very personally too and feel really hurt and rejected so I understand your position. I've realised my pain manifests itself in low level aggression and resentment towards him. He gets pissed off about that and says he feels harrassed. It's odd because I honestly feel like the "victim" because he is effectively withholding love ( that's how it feels, at least). And I also feel sad about the fact that I don't feel I can try and initiate anything anymore through fear/expectation of rejection. Oddly, all my previous relationship dynamics have been entirely the other way around. Maybe that's (unconsciously) why I'm so in love and drawn to him! I hope you manage to find a way to cope with it! Good luck

Oh my gosh girl you just described my situation in a nutshell. I can't help but to get upset either, sometimes I can't help but to cry. I don't handle rejection well. Lol 
I've sat down many times and had a talk with him about him being more open with me. It always helps for awhile. The talk gets repetitive and I wish it'd just stick forever someday but for as long as it's helping I'll happily keep talking to him about it from time to time. 
I'm loving this baby trying experience tho, he can't tell me no, it's awesome 😎

My husband did that but he wanted to have sex it was just he couldn't get an erection or it would die down in the middle of it, so he didn't feel confident. He went to the Dr and got blood work done, come to find out he had very low testoterone levels. He got on medication for it and asked for pills to hel him get a hard on. Dr prescribed him Cyalis and he's happy now. We have sex on a regular basis. Also, he had high blood pressure.

Well sometimes I feel the opposite way. He always wanted to have sex but I don't. I tell him I find him attractive because I do but a lot of times I'm just not in the mood. But if I'm being totally honest it because our sex isn't always that good. I'm not saying that's what is happening with you guys I'm just sharing my POV.

It happens to me quite frequently as I have  higher sex drive and my partner works long hard hours and then I'm in school.

It doen't always work but I handle the rejection by remembering the things he does provide for me, sure, right now he can't give me sex but he did make sure my car was working fine, replaced my wiper blades so if it rained I could still be safe. He helps pay for my schooling so I can improve my life nod helps me study so I do well. And then I grab my vibe and please myself or if he's able he grabs my vibe and pleases me that way.

I'm going through the same thing. Its been going on for over a year now. He would also rather watch porn than have sex with the me. I honestly just have this gut feeling that he really isn't attracted to me anymore and I've just accepted it. I'm to the point where I really don't care anymore and I would rather him go have sex with someone else so I can leave. Its ruining me. I hope things get better for you because I honestly don't know what to do either.
