Last name?

Hey y’all! Okay, so my SO and I have been together for 3 years. We have 2 kids (bio mine, he adopted in July) and one on the way. We are a farming family. Mother Nature has not been kind to him the last few years. We are a long ways from getting married because his attorney advised against it since he’s dealing with some financial stuff from crop loss. We live in a shared property state and I don’t want my stuff liened by the govt. I’m guessing we’re 2-4 years from marriage. I’m so glad that our adoption was granted and I’m excited for baby #3, but it bothers me that the kids and I no longer share a last name. I won’t with this baby either. I’ll be the only one in the house that doesn’t. It sounds totally ridiculous out loud, but I can’t help the way I feel.

So, would it be weird if I change my last name to theirs or should I just wait?
