Weather service alerts

So we are about to get a bad storm, and the weather alert alert service just went off. It got me thinking. I only hear these when watching cable, and not through other services like Netflix and Hulu. A lot of people are cutting ties with cable and moving to other platforms. With newer technology like Fire Sticks, Apple TVs, and gaming consoles to watch “TV” on, it cuts out a whole group when it comes to severe weather.

Obviously you can hear storms, sirens, and other various clues to piece together there are bad storms... but should these other services broadcast dangerous storm alerts too?
