Birth story (finally feel like I can post it without crying) *long post sorry*
So my sweet baby boy was due on July 24th. After 2 miscarriages I was so happy just to make it to July 1st. So around July 7 I had to go to the hospital for decreased fetal movement, I spent 6 hours on a monitor drinking cold things and walking to see if he would move after 5 hours he ended up starting to move again....
fast forward to July 18th at around 10pm my contractions start strong and only 6 mins apart my doctor told me to go to the hospital and they would most likely keep me because of my history. So I go 1 hour away to the hospital. They admit me and I'm only 1cm. So I spent all night long in back labour walking all over the hospital till 7am when my doctor gets there and checks me and surprise I'm still 1cm...so he said he was gonna give me one more hour to labour before he started drastic measures. He went and did a surgery and came back about an hour and a half later and checked I was still 1cm. So he uses a Foley catheter in my cervix to help me dilate. I asked to walk a little more not knowing that having the balloon inside me and taped to my leg would cause me excruciating pain. So I layed back down and begged for an epidural. After my epidural I was being rolled from side to side my blood pressure kept going from super high to super low, my babys heart rate dropped to 78 and went back up several times. After hours and hours of this the dr came in threw scrubs to my husband and said get ready as fast as you can we have to get that baby out. His heart rate dropped again and stayed low so we were rushed into the operating room to have my boy...when they pulled him out he was purple, not breathing, and the cord was around his neck. I panicked and passed out and woke up throwing up everywhere and they were taking my baby out to the NICU. I have never been more terrified in my entire life. But the best part is he is a month old and perfectly healthy meet, Gabriel Dayne Bryant born at 3.55 on July 19th at 7 lbs 10oz. Sorry for the long story, thanks for sticking through it those of you that lasted the whole thing.
My nurses in mother and baby were an absolute nightmare but that's a story for another time.
