Kendrick for a boy?

We are considering Kendrick but we are a little concerned about the popularity of it because of Kendrick Lamar. While we do enjoy his music, that’s not why we like the name. We want to choose a name that we like that’s not wildly popular because we both grew up with crazy overdone names and hated it. What are your thoughts? Yes or No on naming baby Kendrick?

Even with Kendrick Lamar I haven’t heard of any babies being named that. I’ve only known one Kendrick in my life, a boy I went to elementary school with. I think it’s a good name.

I have never heard the name of Kendrick before and I have never heard of Kendrick Lamar either. But as far as the name Kendrick I like it. It has a nice flow to it. And you've got the built-in nickname of Kenny already :-)

I've never met anyone called Kendrick before. Only Lamar and even this name isn't popular (where I live anyway).

It's definitely not popular, but it's so iconic to Kendrick Lamar at this point. It's kind of like if you chose, say, Adele for a girl. It's an uncommon name but people will always associate it with THE Adele. Of course, it's not a bad association so if that doesn't bother you then go for it, it's a nice name.

I actually really never hear this name at all. I think this is the first time I've heard it on this app. I'd say go for it. I think it's a great name and I don't think it's going to be super popular.
