Keto Diet while pregnant?

We are actively ttc but I am also wanting for the hubby and I to start the Keto diet. Does anyone know if you can follow the diet while you are pregnant? I am 9 dpo and hoping for our bfp soon, so we don’t want to start it if it will not be safe to continue. Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks!

I personally would not follow any kind of restrictive diet like that while pregnant. If you choose to do keto while trying to conceive I would have a conversation with your doctor about continuing it during pregnancy.

I would personally be worried about getting enough vitamins and minerals, because keto is so restrictive as far as eating vegetables. Of course you can always take prenatals but it just doesnt seem like a good idea to rely on a supplement to give you what you really should be getting from whole foods while pregnant.

You can do it up until your BFP 😊 but most don’t recommend it while pregnant. If it’s something you’re really interested in even after conception it’s best to speak with your dr. Good luck! 😊
