As long as your feeding on demand, your supply will be fine because your body will adjust to how much your baby needs. You don’t want to pump consistently at a time when your baby isn’t eating or your body thinks it needs to make extra milk at that time, so you’ll end up with an oversupply or constantly have trouble with engorgement when your little one sleeps through the night.

Feed on demand all day if you can, but your body will regulate your supply to what your LO needs. If you have been pumping regularly at night, start increasing the hours before pumping so that you can gradually cut it out if your LO isn’t waking for feeds anymore. I chose 4-6 hours assuming that you were already waking to pump every 4 or so. I’d increase that to 5 or 6 hours for now until my breast heaviness went away, then increase to 7-8 hours, etc.

If your baby is sleeping at night you don’t need supply at night. Feed your baby on demand, and your body will adjust to what your baby needs. If you pump at night your body will keep producing milk at night at you will wake up engorged. Pump when your baby is taking a bottle, to let your body know your baby still needs that milk. At night when your baby and you are sleeping you don’t need that extra milk. Pumping just tricks your body into thinking you do.
