Boyfriend Puts His Mom Over Me?

So yesterday my boyfriend and I were talking and he gets a call from his mother. He comes back and we get on the topic of marriage. He asks me if I would like him to propose soon. Of course I want that, but I have been asking him if this is going to happen for quite a few months, almost a year. He says his mom wants him to now. I, of course, get upset because I have been talking to him about this for a long time and one call from his mother and he is all of a sudden ready now. We go on to have a small argumentative discussion and I ask, so your mom can tell you to get married but you can't discuss this with your girlfriend? Then he goes to say yes, because she is more important. Wtf? You can tell he didn't want to say it or say it like that but wtf. We should be on the same level. If I'm supposed to be your wife you DO NOT treat me with any less respect than your mom. We are EQUALS. I'm so pissed I don't know what to do.
