Why single mom?

Question

Everywhere I go people are always bragging about how great single moms are what is so great about it? I’m a married mom and I get no appreciation and recognition. Also I feel like as a married women I’m not ever able to complain about anything because why you have a husband. Single mom are able to do it and people feel sorry for you. I’m not trying to bash anyone I just really want to know what is so great about being a single mom?

They get a lot of praise because they do it on their own. It’s not easy. My husband is away for work a lot and I know first hand how hard it is to raise a child alone. I couldn’t do it everyday and they do a damn good job. All mothers should be celebrated for the hard work they do but it is easier when you have help from someone else.

It takes a strong person to be able to pay bills, keep a home together, and raise kids all by themselves.  I'm not a single mom but my mama was.  I watched her struggle to keep it together for me and my sisters.  At times, it was so bad that she didn't eat.  But she made sure we were fed.  She always made sure we had everything we needed. 
When you are married, you have a partner to help you carry the load.  Yes, you can still struggle but it's not nearly as bad as having to do it all alone.  It doesn't even compare. 
I will say this though.  Everything my mom went though made ME a stronger person.  It showed me that I needed to make sure I could stand on my own before I even thought about bringing children in this world.  Because of her, I know that if my marriage ever falls apart, I know I will be ok.

I am a single mom and not once do i think getting praised to raise my child on my was a great situation. 
No, i had anger, depression, hurt!
I didnt choose to be a single mom, i left her father who was abusive and it was getting worse everyday. I didnt want my child to endure that abuse.
So i left, with all i could fit od ours in my car and had no plan how i was going to do it.
My life has not been easy ever since. Her dad was not a very active part in her life, his choice. So no help of raising her from him, his family just live tgere lives and only wanted to see her on holidays. 
In the meantime, i had the full load of learning how to be both parts of my child's life.
I worked full time, and lots of overtime, missed out on alot of her school functions, after school sports and had to ask others for help to drop her off and pick her up for me.
I struggled to pay every bill i had because, i wanted her to not go without food, cloths, shoes and whatever she might have wanted.
I also gave every dime for her competitive cheer she was involved in for 7 yrs.
When i get any praise as you say people give to single mom's, i sit and say thank you. But i am jealous of the families who have both parents, income and companionship. People who praise single moms are usually the ones who have there husband or wife still involved.
I am sorry you dont feel you get praised for being a mom. I pray you dont find envy in single mom's, i pray you see we do are best and sacrifice alot and have jealously because we dont have whst you do as a married mom. 
You are special, kind, great and any mom is a awesome person.

This is laughable. Why don’t you make a list of everything that your husband does for you and your kids, including his financial contribution. Then make a list of everything you do for your kids, family, and household.  Now combine them into a single list and imagine yourself doing all of that ALONE. 
That, my friend, is why single mom are the most badass women on the planet.

I think single mothers speak highly of themselves and deserve praise because they have to do things on their own. It’s hard to raise a baby with no help, especially because almost majority of the time people don’t choose to be a single mother. The father of the child often times backs out. 
I think they get upset when married women complain because they feel like we have a husband that we shouldn’t have much to complain about it. Which isn’t always true, yes we have husbands but for example mine works 6 days a week 12-14 hour days and I’m going to be home alone with my son. So it’s basically like being alone. He can’t be up at night because he could get hurt driving to work or operating machines due to lack of sleep. 
I don’t think you can compare either situation, both are very different. And in the end neither woman deserves to be brought down.

Seems like they get more recognition because it’s really not great... they seem to have a harder life, but have often chosen it. So I don’t think it’s that amazing. 
A lot of married moms work full time, keep the house and kids too, and take care of a husband. So there’s a lot to be said for that as well. 
I’ve never understood bragging about not needing a man. You may not, but your kid does.

Because they do it all on there own . They donr have a husband to watch the baby when the shower or use the bathroom . The baby is always with them and it takes a strong ass woman to provide for baby in every way .

im a single mom of 4 and its definetly hard challenging and just emotionally draining. i been married twice and both my exs left me for other women now i feel like i should never date again like no one would want me. I would do it all again for my 4 boys in a heart beat. its easier when u have a good stable relationship at least to talk to each other at the end of a rough day.
