Wedding videographer told us we're "pissing him off"

A

Yeah, you read that right. My husband and I got married July 2017. Everything from the vests not coming in until 2 days before only to all be the wrong size, to the parking lot being a mud pit the day of. If it could go wrong,it did. Everyone we hired aside from one photographer half assed their job.

The DJ was late to rehearsal and didnt bring any of our music for walking down the aisle which led to the day of no body walking when they were supposed to. He played the wrong song during the mother/son dance. One photographer that we paid for the whole day gave us our photos back in a weeks time which were barely edited and and less than the other photographer had given us for 5 hours of her time.

For example, what we got from one photographer

What we got from the other

Now, for the videographer. We paid him $500. A price at which he offered because he is a friend of my husbands oldest brother. His meal was paid for, $30 a plate I might add. And he was given a bottle of Jack Daniel's per his request. He spent most of his time trying to get with one of my bridesmaids, with no success, and had the nerve to walk up to us while we were eating at the reception and say "This is starting to feel more like work and less like a party." All because he was unable to start drinking when he wanted to. When I gave him his money before he left, he was in a group of people talking and took the money. Didnt so much as look at me or say thank you. If you haven't caught on by now...he's an ass.

Anyways, fast forward to now. It's been 14 months since our wedding and all we have got are excuses. "He lost footage" "it will be in the mail in a few days" The only thing we received was a link to a "highlight video" of 3min that we have no way of saving because it's on YouTube. He's done plenty of videos since and had asked for volunteers to be in a music production on Fb. So my husband finally decided to comment on his post, making it public to see we still hadn't received our video. He wasnt rude, just wanted to get his attention as he keeps blowing us off.

Immediately,he texts my husband saying that we will just get our money back because it's not worth the hassle for a "few hundred bucks" and that we we're starting to "piss him off" And my husbands brother, who recommended him, TOOK HIS SIDE! He asked my husband to remove his comment and made him feel like we were in the wrong.

So, my husband told the videographer we have all of our conversations with him from the last 2 years about the video and what we agreed on. He sent us the money through pay pal soon after. Unfortunately, they placed a hold on it for almost 3 weeks because of the amount..so one more thing to wait on. And we will most likely never get our footage from him. We are heartbroken as the day had went by so quickly and we had been so stressed it seems like a blur. The video was supposed to be something we could look back on. Instead we are empty handed.
