Stay at home after baby, or go back to work?
It's the big question, isn't it? And a controversial one at that. People get so fired up about why they made their choices and are quick to judge others for it, whatever they chose is right for their family. I made the choice to go back to school to finish my program at college and am in early stages of pregnancy and a friend of mine was shocked I would even think of going back to school and working full time after maternity leave. Her words were "I just can't imagine putting myself first when I'm starting a family." Uh... What! She is a stay at home mom and I know they work hard-- I've seen it in many of my friends and family! It's one of the most grueling jobs out there. But if I choose to go to school to better myself To get a better job to help support us, is that seriously selfish? My in laws are also seething. Does it really make me a bad mom for knowing that being a stay at home mom is not in the cards for me?
