Neighbor is lying about homeschooling children to keep custody from her ex husband.

So here is something I don't know whether I should intervene or not. My neighbor and I have had some nice conversations and she seemed really nice so I invited her over to help me with some decorations for a party because she is so crafty with her outside decorations and to maybe build a friendship. We get on the subject of kids. We are both pregnant. This is my first and her 5th. While talking she says she is glad she got her oldest back so she can watch the 2 that are too young for school yet. I thought she meant for the moment but as she kept talking about it, I realized she meant permenantly. Kids start school Tuesday and she is going out of town, without the three, tomorrow for 2 weeks with her husband. She then starts talking about how she pulled the oldest out of school in order to watch them. Then she starts ranting about how her ex is so stupid that he really thinks she is going to homeschool that "little brat." And that she is teaching her to not ever again think she was better than her. At this point I am completely uncomfortable and I asked her to leave immediately. So aside from strongly recommending she seek counseling, I am wondering if there is anything I can do. I've met her oldest who is maybe 14 or 15. Can I report this to someone. I mean if she is really not homeschooling then isn't it against the law to keep a child out of school? Is this abuse? I just feel so much for this girl and now I can't help but look for signs of abuse. Any advice? Update: Forgot to mention the father had sole custody but thought teen daughter should be with mother if she is going to home school. She gave me a lot of tea on their issues but some of them should not be shared here.

Update: I got a chance to talk to the oldest. She was very upset she was being forced out of school by her mom. I asked her how I could help and she asked me to call her dad for her. I did a lot of research and found that in my state the child would be taken to juvenile court after missing 7 days of school with no excuse. A criminal charge would be brought against the parent in which tjis case is the father. I informed him of this. He came to my house and we called cps together about the issue. They came out and are investigating the so called homeschooling situation but her father is not out of the woods. He has sole custody so he is being held responsible. Cps did call the mom to come home because they could not make her dad leave her there with them. Cps stayed with the two until she came home. Its out of my hands now.
