Regular doctor or ob?

If your pregnant but think you have a cold or virus do you see your regular family doctor or an ob?

My ob does NOT want you going in if you're sick. You can get other pregnant women sick, some who are due any day! General practice or urgent care. If you have questions about safe medications with pregnancy and your dr is unsure, call your ob.

Your ob. My primary wont even see you if you’re pregnant and the walk in clinic won’t treat you either. They’ll tell you to call your ob. The obs hate them giving anything to the patient either.

My OB said to call them if I have any concerns or catch any illnesses while pregnant. They are more equipped to deal with pregnant patients and are more up-to-date in proper medications.

I transferred all my care to my OB. They’re more than equipped to handle those routine issues, and since you’re going to see them so frequently it makes it easier. Plus, my prenatal visits are 100% covered so addressing those concerns with my OB means I don’t have to pay the $30 copay I ordinarily pay my primary care clinic when I go.
