Did all apartments accept co-signers?

Except for the student housing communities all our local apartments in my college town require you to make 3x the rent or you have to have a co-signer who can.  They require back proofs of the amout as well.

Most places accept a cosigner, but you should talk to the landlord about it. Also many people ive spoken to say that the credit thing is often used not just to check your score but to check what kind of debt you have. Having a bad credit score may not be a deal breaker if the landlord knows you're a student and havent built your credit yet. If they see you dont have debt and dont have any issues with debt, they may forgive a low score.
