Did my water break or just discharge?

Question

I was kneeling down, petting my dog, when I felt a small leak in my underwear. It was enough to just wet the crotch area. The fluid was clear and had no distinct smell.
I already called labor and delivery about my concern. The nurse I spoke to told me to lie down for an hour and see if I leaked more fluid when I got back up and then call back if I did. So I did just that and no more fluid came out.

I did my own research online and read that your water doesn't necessarily have to come out all at once and that it can be as little as a trickle.

Any opinions? I'm nervous about ignoring my symptom and something happening to my baby :/ my due date is 8/8 if it helps.

I had something similar with our last baby.  It was not constant. I went in and the midwife ran a test to see if it was vaginal fluid or amniotic.  Turned out to be amniotic fluid after all.  My advice, get it checked out just to be safe.

My doctor told me to walk around in a robe and see if I felt anything trickling down my leg if I was unsure. Maybe this will help you?

It doesn't need to be a constant flow bc the baby's head could be blocking it if you feel movements and no more leaking then probably not but I'm not a dr. Get checked out that's what these last few weeks are for w weekly visits

My little guy is so low and pushes on my bladder that if I squat down I leak pee. I have to wear panty liners because I "leak" a lot. If I sneeze, cough, laugh to hard or do anything that applies pressure I leak. I have gone into the docs and was checked out when this first started happening because I thought it was my "water" they did the test and it came out negitive. Good luck!

Due 8/12 and had something similar this morning. My undies looked like I peed myself a bit when I got out of bed. I called my midwife and they said unless it keeps coming out throughout the day it's probably just watery discharge.

Kinda depends how far down the baby is. So say, baby is way down there, your only gonna leak what's in front of the head. The head acting like a sort of plug from the rest of your water. Make sense?
