Festival Drug Testing

🌟

I saw a video yesterday about festivals drug testing. Not drug testing the festival goers, but testing the drugs they bring in. How it works is people drop off a sample of their drugs anonymously with a contact number and the drugs are tested and the people who dropped them off are told what was in them. The aim is to educate people on what is in these drugs, and so that they can be as ‘safe’ as possible in an attempt to reduce festival drug deaths. An example of where it’s been useful is where one tablet that the person dropped off thought was MDMA actually turned out to be 100% plaster of Paris

How do you feel about this? Is it helpful and beneficial? Or is it encouraging recreational drug use and opens up the possibility of more drug related deaths from overdosing?

I think it’s beneficial, you’re not going to completely eradicate drug usage in these environments and if it lowers drug deaths at these events then I’m all for it
