Cancun or Hawaii?

Question

My boyfriend wants to take me on a trip before baby arrives but I will be about 34 weeks.. is it okay to travel that late?? Also should we go to Cancun or Hawaii if we’re able to?! 😊 I will be asking my Doctor next week but want some opinions. Thank you in advance!

I don’t actually know anything about traveling while pregnant, but that sounds pretty late to be traveling, much less outside of the country/continental US
To answer your question though, I definitely recommend Cancun. It’s much cheaper than Hawaii, but has similar things to do. My husband and I went for our honeymoon and had a blast, we’re actually going back this November because the first time was so fun

Cancun has a Zika risk also if something happens, do you really want to deliver in a Mexican hospital? 
Also check with your insurance company about leaving the country or state! Most don’t cover after 32-35 weeks. 
We were going to go away but it would be at 35 weeks and I wouldn’t be covered. So we decided on somewhere 4 hours away

Your doctor may allow it depending on your medical history but make sure to check with the airline too! Some airlines won’t allow flying after 32 weeks. 
I highly recommend Maui! There’s so much to do and see, and so many microclimates on the small island. If you do fly make sure you wear compression socks and walk the aisle as often as possible, every 30 minutes to an hour is best, for at least 5 minutes at a time. I flew for 14 hours when I was 21 weeks and this is what my ankles looked like even following that advice 😅 ignore my ugly ass toes, they swelled up a lot too and don’t normally look like that lmao

I wouldn’t do it. Not that far, and not to Cancun for fear of Zika it’s SO not worth it. I got miserable FAST around that time this pregnancy it would have made for an awful trip anyway

Check with the airline, they may not allow you to fly, I wouldn’t risk travelling to either country at that stage of pregnancy

A long trip at 34 weeks will most likely be miserable for you. I personally wouldn’t go more than an hour or so away after 30 weeks...
