What is the best time to do the dating scan???

Im 6 weeks pregnant today. I met my GP at 4 weeks and she asked me to call the clinic for the dating scan at 7+ weeks. I feel like I should wait until week 8, then i will be able to get some more information about my growing bean😀
What is the best time to do the dating scan?

Yep I would leave it til about 8 weeks. That way if you find out you’re not as far along as you thought (which seems to happen to a lot of people) you should still be able to see the baby and heartbeat at that time.

I went in at 4 weeks also and my dating scan is the 26th so that will put me right at 8weeks. the doctor said we should be able to see the baby and hear the heart beat at this time!

Wait until 8 weeks. I had a scan at 6 weeks and 4 days, we didn’t see much. You can see the heartbeat flicker and the yolk Sak but it’s not as satisfying as seeing the baby more clearly.

A dating scan is usually done closer to 12 weeks
