I took one (Walmart cheapie) 6 days before my missed period and got a positive. It was faint but positive nontheless. I of course took 2 more the next day (definitley bfp) and then 4 days later.

I normally do them the day of missed period but with this one I did it 5 days before and it was a strong positive

I couldn't get a positive until 10 days after missed period with my first and 5 or 6 days after with my second. Some people can get them really early though, the day of missed period.

I always recommend waiting to see if you miss your period first. A lot of women don't get positives before and freak out. Mine didn't come until several days after but I only texted every 3 days or so.

It'll always depend on the pregnancy. Both times, I've tested positive at 10dpo, but some women don't get a positive until weeks later. So earliest with a low chance of a false negative, probably a couple days before expected period; otherwise most accurate will be sometime after you've missed your period, depending on how fast the hcg is doubling and when implantation occurred.

Look at the chart included with your test. Most will get a positive the day of missed period, or even before! A handful of women have lower levels and won't test positive until a week or two after missed period. Generally they say test as soon as your period is late.
