Is this test faulty?

I ordered a bunch of ovulation tests on amazon. The first 3 I used were ok but now they all look like this? With that dark shadow...? Is that normal? I don’t recall this being on the first 3

i had a faulty one in my easy @ home box last cycle. i got a different brand to test along side the rest of my tests and am glad i did that. i ordered the pregmate brand and couldn’t be happier. they definitely caught my surge way better than the blue handled ones.

bottom left is the faulty one i was telling you about. literally looks like someone drew on it with blue pen. and it just totally helped me this cycle to have the other brand there to compare. im currently in my tww!!

Maybe I'm over simplifying this... You wouldn't know they were faulty until you used them? 
Provided the window is clear and you can see the lines, I don't see how those grey bits would matter.
