I think it depends on where you live. If my husband and I were to transfer somewhere less expensive with our same salary, we'd be wealthy. In the Bay Area, we just barely eek by.

I think wealth is in how wisely you use your money. You can make $300 a week, but if you spend wisely and even invest, you are wealthy because it will build as opposed to deplete. And you'll have all your needs taken care Of and not be worrying about anything.

I don't consider $70,000-$100,000 wealthy at all. I live in an area where those are the common middle class wages. I see people making very poor choices and getting into huge debt with too many expensive vehicles buying summer cottages etc. Then they lose their job and very quickly lose everything because they don't live within their means. If you make $100,000 and are careful to not be in debt than great you can live wealthy later. But usually people think money will always continue.

I think $300,000 py is wealthy. But I only consider it wealthy if a person lives within their means if you are living on a debt limb your not wealthy.
