Baby box?

Question

Hi, has anybody used the baby box instead of a bassinet? They use it in some European countries and is pretty much a box with a mattress is supposed to be safe for the baby..they have it here in the  US and is free in some states.. did you like it??  Recommendations? thanks!

I got the free Ohio one as well. I felt it was pretty sturdy and I plan on using it for naps during the day and as a general safe place to lay baby when I need to put them down.

I was all excited to get one after researching how safe they are. Ordered one online. My baby hated it and never once slept in it. I also didn’t like I couldn’t see her from the side, had to sit up in bed to look into the box. I preferred my co-sleeper bassinet and so did baby.

I’m in Ohio and got one along with a host of other freebie company’s offers. It’s really is just a box with a mattress, doesn’t feel very sturdy. Baby didn’t get here yet, but I didn’t really feel comfortable using it for sleep after It got here, so I used it for storage 🤷🏼‍♀️ we used the bassinet on the pack and play and rock n play for baby #1 and will do the same with #2

We love our baby box!! We keep it upstairs in the living room so when it’s nap time it’s easy to put him in and safe 😊 much more affordable option too! We got ours free at a baby expo

I did a bit of research on the baby box, and its pretty disappointing. It’s literally a cardboard box, and it’s impossible to keep clean if there’s spit up or a blowout. I thought I’d get one and my daughter could at least put her dolly in the box, so I jumped through all the hoops and entered in all of my information. At the end of watching all the videos, they told me they wouldn’t ship to my location and I’d have to drive 3 hours to pick it up. So I cancelled it and deleted my account. Total waste.

It can be worth it. Most of them definitely have a mattress and free stuff for baby. It is widely distributed here in Scotland, but there are so many different companies and organisations that do it in the states, that it isn’t the same. 
I have one and plan to use it downstairs in my partner’s office so that we don’t have to move anything if the baby needs to sleep down there.

It’s my understanding that the baby box is supposed to be the safe way to have the baby sleep in the bed with you. If you want the baby in your bed then you would choose that over a bassinet. There are also travel bassinets that remind me of the baby box and you might be able to use it the same.

It doesn’t have a mattress inside of it- my company is a distributor of them. It’s literally just a box!! It’s great for safe sleep for baby for the first few weeks of their life 😊

You can order them online and pick up for free locally normally from what I could see no mattress just a box with some free baby stuff a book, onesie, bottle etc
