C section ?

Question

So I might have to have a c section can you guys comment your struggles if you had any or tips how to make recovery easy. Also, did you have a hard time caring for the baby and stuff?

It was not as bad as I thought it would be! That being said though, I only have one child and doing the recovery with a toddler as well would be hell. By the time I got home from the hospital I didn’t have a problem getting up and down from sitting but getting up from laying down was tough, by morning I’d be sooo sore. And in the hospital I found it very difficult to sit up and pick her up out of the bassinet. By the third night I figured out how to do it 😅 I wanted hubby to get some rest because he had to pass her to me every time, the hard part is laying back down once you’re holding baby because you need your arms to lower your body so you don’t use your abs 😅 and the gas pains afterwards can be intense. Other than that though, just take it super easy and it’ll all be good! All in all I had a very positive experience and wouldn’t have changed a thing.

I agree with Jamie! I used a rolled up, stiff receiving blanket to hold against the incision when I needed to sneeze or cough or laugh as well as getting out of bed to pee. (I'm short so the hospital bed was a little high for me) I also used an ice pack to help with pain and swelling. (Be careful to follow the 20 min rule. I lost feeling in parts of my lower abdomen area where they cut me and couldn't feel the ice making it really cold and could've gotten frost bite) Personally I kept up with the pain meds for quite a while when I got home, especially at night. You can't lift anything heavier than the baby for awhile and even sometimes that was too much for me. Don't over do it but try to get up and move around to help with the stiffness and healing
