Dating is so weird!

So my last relationship ended about 3 yrs ago, I was with him for 10 yrs since I was 16!! So I have no idea how to date! Lol I've met a few guys this past few years but none that I could take seriously. I'm recently "hanging out" with this guy and when we go out he's very attentive and sweet, always holding my hand and kissing me. But throughout the rest of the days we don't hangout he's very distant? Am I over thinking this too much? I honestly don't know if I should be sweeter with him but then I don't want to come off clingy.. Lol any input?
