Epidural or natural birth ??

Question

So I was leaning towards a epidural but my sister in law went into labor and I was the only one with her so she begged me to stay with her until her husband arrived I saw her in pain although she did great at the beginning but at the end she asked for epidural I didn’t want to stay but she asked me to so I stayed big mistake she yelled and moved a lot even though the nurse kept telling her to stop now I’m terrified to get the epidural can anyone share their personal stories ?

I had to get two epidurals while in labour with my daughter and both times they were administered, I didn’t feel a thing. They do it during a contraction so it’s actually a lot easier to handle. They told me just to focus on the contraction rather than thinking about what was going on behind me. It was over super quickly too. The anesthesiologist was pretty much out of the room as soon as he came in.

I was too far along to get an epidural by time i got to hospital an now i am glad i done natural i always wonder with an epidural can you feel yourself push the same ...

I would 200% get an epidural again lol. I felt the needle that they use to freeze my back, just a little pinch like a regular needle then nothing except a bit of pressure when they put it in. It was nothing compared to the pain of contractions. After the epidural I only felt one or two more contractions, it was wonderful ☺️

That’s crazy. I didn’t feel my epidural at all. They numbed me with lidocaine first inserted the needle and I was much more comfortable afterward

I would say just see how you cope with contractions and if you cant cope with the pain then have the epidural. I know you are meant to have a plan as such but i would guess majority of people change they mind at the time or depends on circumstances

I had epidural and it felt way better than the contractions just had to tell the person thats doing when contractions are happening so they can stop and start when they are off

Epidural doesnt hurt bad . Im so glad i got it . I dont have any pain in my back or anything

I did not feel the needle but during this time I felt an electricity that lasted 2 seconds.Also after epidural i felt the pain in my right side.Every body is different.I was tryinf to go naturally but i ended up with an epidural then with an emmegency c-section .Do what is the best for your baby and for you
