Date nights?

Question

How many date nights do you take a week/month/year? I really think they are a good idea but I have a hard time with the mom guilt leaving my kids with someone else.

The last time DH and I went on a real date was December. 😭

What about an at home date night? 
Once the kids are asleep, just make special alone together plans and hang out, no phones/distractions/ect, just put everything to the side for a couple hours and talk with each other and spend time together.
Order a pizza and rent a movie and watch it together
Play board games
Play trivia question games to re get to know each other
Make a dinner or dessert together
Build a puzzle 
Order in dinner and eat it together at the table and just chit chat 
There’s a lot of good ideas online too. This seems like a good compromise until your kids are a bit older. Just make sure you put everything else away, take time away from everything else, and put in effort to focus on just each other during that 2 hour(or whatever) time slot   
I’ve heard that once a month is a good starting point, and once the kids are a bit older you can do more, like once a week or whatever

My husband and I commit to one date night a week. Been doing it consistently for over a year now and only took a three week hiatus right after LO was born. That time together away from distractions and the TV is SO important for us maintaining our bond. Happy parents=happy family! You also don't have to get away to do a date night. Sometimes when we want to save $ or stay in I go to store to get stuff to make a fancier than usual dinner and we rent a movie off Amazon.

My fiance and I try to go at least 1 or 2x a week, but it is difficult because of our schedules. We work complete opposite shifts with different days off and we have my son on my days off. Sometimes we just take random days off for us when my son is with his bio dad.
