Husband is a moron

Background: my husband is a power plant supervisor who works swing shift. They are on set four week repeating schedules with four crews. Only 4 supervisors who can cover for other supervisors. I’m due November 26th and was planning a 39 week induction on the 19th because I’m also having a tubal while I’m there. Last labor was 4 hours, my family lives 2 hours away and his lives an hour away.

So my husband in his infinite wisdom decided to pick up an extra shift. In November. The 22nd because he’d get overtime AND holiday pay. And “he was the only one who could cover it”. I. Was. Floored. First of all that someone would be suck a jerkwad to request off a holiday like that and second that my husband didn’t see anything wrong with picking it up or felt the need to check with me first. His reasoning was that I “always go early”. Ok fine that’s true but seriously. I have to wonder if he is actually planning on taking ANY time off when we get home or if he’s going right back to work and leaving me with three kids and a “good luck”

I know I shouldn’t worry about the what if’s, but dang it he makes things more complicated than they need to be.
