Gun Control - Whats it like where you live?

So I saw a gun control post yesterday or the day before. I wanted to post one of my own but never got around to it.

What I want to know is: what do you feel like works about your current gun control and what do you feel is lacking/needs improvement specifically?

If you can put your country that would be great because I want to see how its different in multiple locations.

The reason I ask is my brother recently got approved to get a gun. He has borderline intellectual functioning, autism, OCD/Anxiety, Depression. As a child he was hospitalized multiple times for violence. No criminal record however. It TERRIFIES me that he has a gun because he has NO SOCIAL UNDERSTANDING. If he perceives a “threat” he feels justified.

What could be better in place to perhaps prevent this? What works in your state/country? And again what needs improved?

I hear people scream for better gun control but what would that look like exactly in your mind?
