I don't understand the terms!!

I've always had a crappy health education so we never really learned about periods. all I know is that I bleed once a month and I get super crazy painful cramps and I just have to deal with it. but what I don't know is everything in between! I don't know what ovulation is or that really annoying discharge that comes out of me and ruins my underwear! help?!
