Over supply of breast milk?

What do you consider an over supply of milk? I have A LOT of milk in my freezer already. I am building up a supply for when my little one heads to day care just after thanksgiving however I feel like I have a ton. I have probably a few hundred ounces in my freezer and am not feeding my LO many bottles right now because I’m home so most everything I pump goes into my freezer supply. I know that milk expires after about 6 months which is a long time but I also wouldn’t want to see a bunch go to waste - so how much is too much? Should I be donating some rather than having it expire before it can be used?

Are you planning on continuing pumping once she’s at daycare? If so you definitely don’t need that much.
I thaw milk for Monday and then what I pump on Monday goes with my daughter on Tuesday and so on. Then what I pump Friday goes to the back of my stash. 
I only keep a few days worth in the freezer for emergencies. I naturally have an oversupply so I’ve already donated milk once and am almost ready to donate again.

If it is going to expire before you use it, find a place to donate. I would say you have an excellent supply. You’re very lucky. With my first 2, I couldn’t pump enough to make it count.

I’m going to use one bag of my frozen milk a day (she starts daycare tomorrow at 16 weeks) and replace it with fresh milk if I’m able to pump enough at work, basically rotating my stash.

You only need a three-day supply. It’s good frozen for up to six months, but my lactation consultant told me to avoid feeding milk frozen older than three months because it starts to taste like freezer, and a lot of babies won’t eat it. I will have about 70-80 ounces when I go back to work next week, and that’s too much.

if you keep it in a deep freezer it's good for a year. just keep it till you start running low on space and donate the oldest milk you have.
