Irregular periods + BC pills + spotting

My period has been irregular my entire life. Varies from 1 month to even 5 months, pretty scary, I know lol I didnt really mind this, until recently when I started a new relationship and started having sex.

Irregular Periods + Sex = STRESSFUL AF (even with condoms) 😭😱

Anyway, started taking pills yesterday, so Im on my second day, and I noticed that I’m spotting. For those who had irregular periods, how long after you started BC did it become regular/monthly?
