4-6oz every feeding?

My baby boy is only a month old and he eats 4-6 oz every 2-3 hours which ends up being 30-34oz a day. Is anyone else’s babies eating this much? My mil keeps telling me to put rice cereal in his bottle to “fill him up” but I’ve heard so many negative things about it, she gives extremely outdated advice. He’s gained a pound every week since we’ve had him home, now he weighs 11 pounds.

My baby eats 3-4 ounces sometimes more sometimes less. She’s breastfed/bottle fed and she’ll be 4 weeks on Friday. She’s pretty small too, she’s still in preemies. I think she’s going through growth spurts when she eats more than 3 ounces. Breast milk is also thinner and faster and more easily digested than formula so breastfed babies eat more often. I did rice cereal in my first daughters bottle at night and she was formula fed but I didn’t do it this early.

My son eats 4-5oz every 3 hours. Went to the Dr today and he was 10lbs 2oz. Dr was happy with it!

My daughter is 6 weeks and is up to about 23 oz a day. If the pediatrician hasn't said anything about it I would think it's fine. I know they are supposed to gain up to 2 lbs a week. He just has a healthy appetite. Rice cereal is up for debate because if something in the rice and it's really starchy but I think 1 month is too young to give him anything other than formula or breast milk. But I'm not a pediatrician either.

Adding cereal to bottles is lazy parenting and sooo bad for them!!! He’s doing great my baby is the same way!!! She eats about 30 oz a day!!!! If he’s not getting sick by eating soo much you know that he needs it! Boy just has a good appetite!! And breast milk breaks apart soo quickly, no wonder they get hungry sooo fast

I breastfeed my baby and at his one month check up he was 12 lbs!! He eats every two hours or so and I’d say eats about the same amount as yours from the times I have pumped. It’s totally fine, they get chunky but loose it all once they start walking.

Please don't listen to her. Putting rice in a bottle is so dangerous. They could easily choke on it.
It's okay he's eating a lot. He's growing. So long as he's not physically vomiting, he's just fine ❤️ my little eats 30 plus oz a day too.
