Question!!?

I ovulated on the 17th I only had sex that day and only 1 time , I got lucky I almost missed it , I always rely on glow but this time I decided to check and test since I was having ovulation pains and sure enough it was positive I ovulated early but my hubby comes and goes out of town he’s on a 24hr call so we couldn’t do much:( , do I still have a chance ? Can I still get pregnant w just this one time ??? I really wanna keep my hopes up :( . Also is it possible to ovulate every other month ?? Thing is sometimes I don’t feel no pain like my last cycle and. Didn’t conceive , this cycle my body was in pain and was letting me know I was ovulating and I feel that once in a while not every cycle ?? So confused I do take clomid ..
